A profile has been set up on the website 'www.clearwaylaw.com' misusing the name of Danielle Burgess and the name and details of John Gilbert & Frankton LLP purporting to offer legal services.
What is the scam?
The SRA has been informed of a profile on the freelance services marketplace ClearWay Law misusing the name of a genuine solicitor (see below) and the name and details of a genuine firm of solicitors (see below).
The profile purports to be for an individual who is qualified to practice law and is offering legal services.
Any business or transactions through the profile of Danielle Burgess on the website ClearWay Law is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called John Gilbert & Frankton LLP (SRA ID 607702). The genuine head office address for the firm is 3 Regent Place, Rugby, CV21 2PJ and its genuine telephone number is 01788 576384.
The SRA authorises and regulates genuine solicitors called Danielle Burgess, whose genuine SRA ID numbers are 819205 and 641895.
Both solicitors have confirmed that they do not have any connection to the profile referred to in the above alert.
The genuine firm of John Gilbert & Frankton LLP has confirmed that they have no connection to the profile referred to in the alert above.
