A letter has been sent to a member of the public misusing the name, details and logo of Richard Nelson LLP in relation to a formal notice.

What is the scam?

A letter has been sent to a member of the public misusing the name, logo and details of a genuine firm (see details below) in relation to a formal notice.

The letter was sent from the individuals called 'Sukhraj Singh Malhi' and 'Balraj Singh Punia'.

The SRA does not authorise or regulate individual solicitors named 'Sukhraj Singh Malhi' and 'Balraj Singh Punia'.

Any business or transaction through the above contact details is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors by the name of Richard Nelson LLP (SRA ID 547139). The genuine firm uses the email domain @richardnelsonllp.co.uk. One of their branch offices is 3rd Floor, St George's House, 6 St George's Way, Leicester, LE1 1QX and contact number is 01164 785506.

The genuine firm Richard Nelson LLP has confirmed they have no connection to the letter referred to in the alert above.
