Warning: Email misusing the name Natacha Heffinck

An email has been sent to a member of the public misusing the name of Natacha Heffinck, a genuine solicitor.

What is the scam?

The SRA has seen an email sent to a member of the public misusing the name of a genuine solicitor (please see genuine details below).

The email seen by the SRA advises the recipient to review an attached 'client care contract' which offers to investigate and potentially recover funds related to a financial fraud case involving the member of the public.

The email seen by the SRA was sent from the email address 'natacha.f@solicitorservices.org'.

Any business or transactions through the email address 'natacha.f@solicitorservices.org' is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorise and regulate a genuine solicitor called Natacha Heffinck (SRA number 459488).

The genuine solicitor is not thought to be connected to the email address or document referred to in the above alert.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means.
