Warning: TikTok and Facebook accounts misusing the name National Accident Law Limited

Instagram, TikTok and Facebook accounts have been set up misusing the name National Accident Law Limited.

What is the scam?

The SRA has been informed that multiple TikTok accounts have been created along with an Instagram and Facebook account which are purporting to be a genuine SRA regulated firm (see below). The accounts are purporting to offer legal services.

We have been informed that the usernames which were associated with the TikTok accounts were '@nationalaccidentlaw' and '@nationalaccidentclaims'. The Instagram account username is 'Fahad. Nationalaccidentlaw' and the Facebook account is associated with 'Fahad-Shah/61591581013128/'.

Any business or transactions through the above social media accounts are not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called National Accident Law Limited (SRA number 655606). Its genuine telephone number is 0778 561 7828 and the email domain used by the firm is @national-accident-law.co.uk.

National Accident Law Limited has confirmed that they do not have any connection to the above social media accounts.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
